Help! I'm suffering male pattern baldness!

Does anycat know what causes this? It isn't itchy or red or scabby, and it doesn't really bother me at all. It's only on the one side. I looked it up on the net and none of the stuff I found seems to be the answer. Should I go to the v-e-t, or do you think it's nothing serious? Has anycat had this happen to them? Did it go away?

Hair loss can be caused by ringworm, but that does not look very ringworm-y to me. Toby, how long have you had the bald patch?

Daisy, I knew I could count on you! It's only been there for a few days, and it was only on top of my eye until today when I noticed it was creeping below, which kind of sceert me. From what I read, it didn't seem ringworm-y to me either. Also, I'm always indoors and so are the other cats who live here.

I hope I don't look funny now. The Blonde One says she loves me no matter what I look like, but she doesn't want me sick or anything.

Toby, I hope you can get a dianosis and clear up the problem.

This is the first time I ever visited. Mom's dad had a Siamese cat named Toby. When Grandpa, then Grandma died, Toby went to live with mom's brother since Jake and I didn't want another cat with us.

You were so kind to leave a comforting comment upon my beloved Jake’s passing last month. The cat blogosphere is a wonderfully caring community, and I am honored to be a part of it. Thank you for your support during this difficult time for me. Jake’s memory will forever live in my heart and mind.

Hello Bathsheba! Thanks for stopping by. I can understand about Toby. We kitties get set in our ways, don't we?

Nancy,
The cat blogosphere is terrific, isn't it? I know that you must miss Jake terribly. I've never lost a cat yet, but I can imagine it leaves quite an empty spot. I'd miss Toby terribly if he went to the bridge. It's good that you have Bathsheba.

could be mites toby. :(

Mites can cause hair loss.

Go to your vet.
Get something appropriate to treat it. :)

Hey, 'nets! Fortunately, it went away not long after this post, I mean that the hair grew back. But I'll keep that in mind if it happens again. :)
